I have been a complete slacker and have not put up a new photo in a long time! So sorry. I hope to get back in the swing of things soon.

I loved the idea of creating “faux walls” using fun fabric and a little trim. I did this shot using my backdrop stand. I still had issues getting the fabric really stretched so it looks like it is actually on wall. I really wanted something that I could travel with on location that doesn’t take forever to set up or is not huge and heavy. My search continues. This photo was taken a little before noon on a pretty overcast day in front of a eastern window using my Tamron 17-50.

Now that I look at them together like this I may have overdone the powder room….  oh well live and learn. In PS: Highpass sharping on overlay layer, aly’s basic boost action, Coffeeshop powder room, and a little cloning action to cleann up my daughter’s shirt (I promise it was clean when I put it on her.)

I have not been great this week at taking pictures and posting them…ahhh. too busy! Here is one of my son’s feet. I used my tamron 17-50 mm lens. I originally got the lens to do family portraits…but let me tell you… so much fun for cool wide angle stuff as well!  I am posting my SOOC and edited version today but I didn’t write down my edits and did too much playing around to remember…sorry.

just one for fun!

Well… I missed my first POTD… I wish I had a good reason or that I was too busy. I think just too uninspired! But I am back. I need to get out of the house more or book some shoots… here is my daughter…this time outside. I know I am shaking things up.

In PS: Sharpen, levels adjustment, PW boost, PW colorize, dodge and burn the eyes, and cleaning up the snot steaming down her nose. I adjusted some of the blending modes in the colorize action. I  used PW boost twice (the second time at about 30% opacity.)

I thought it was my turn to be on my blog. This is an uber closeup… my own self portrait. Sorry for how close it is or if  it scares you! This picture was taken in front of a western facing door around 3 pm on a sunny day. Ididn’t realize HOW overexposed this photo was until I was editing. I guess that is why is it always better to be behind the camera when taking a picture. I was working on  an ISO lesson today. I typically use 200 when I am inside in front of a window… I read somewhere that you should use 800 inside. So I tried that… I think I will go back to 200 -400!

In ACR: decreased exposure. In PS: Sharpen on Luminocity layer, levels adjustment, PW boost, eye pop using dodge/burn tool, Totally Rad Bitchen black and white action.

I am sure you all are tired of seeing my little girl..but right now she is most cooperative. These were taken at 1 pm in front of a  southern window on sunny day.

SOOC

EDITED

In ACR: Slight exposure and brightness bump. In PS: sharpen, levels adjustment, eye pop (lasso the eye, feather maybe 5 px , duplicate the eye on new layer, and do slight levels adjustment) PW sunshine action, PW boost, and PW Quick edge burn. I tweaked the actions so they are not at 100% strength nor are they all of the same blending layers as the original action.

not my best work….. but I am up with my potd! These pictures were taken around 1 pm in front of a southern window on a very snowy cloudy day.

In ACR: exposure and brightness adjustment. In PS: sharpen on luminosity layer, PW boost, MCP touch of light/darkness action, levels adj, PW quick edge burn.

I just added this one because I thought it was funny… I think she is channeling my grandpa from the other side!

and one more so you can see how cute she really is…

I processed this on with my usual sharpen and levels but also used a vibrant color correction action and PW Heartland (from her second set!) I also cleaned up the lunch on her shirt with a little cloning action!

ps… you can probably tell where the inspiration from the card I posted came from….
